Klosterman hooked up with receiver Dan Graf for both touchdowns, and the Sioux defense shut down the Aggies' potent offensive. North Dakota (13-1) will face Grand Valley State next Saturday in Florence, Ala. The Michigan school advanced with a 34-16 victory over Catawba. Klosterman was 13-for-23 passing for 141 yards, and Jed Perkerewicz ran for 101 yards on 20 carries. North Dakota, coming off a 38-0 quarterfinal victory over Pittsburg State, held the Aggies' offense _ ranked eighth in the nation in total yards _ to just 49 yards rushing and intercepted two of J.T. O'Sullivan's passes. O'Sullivan was 26-of-45 for 327 yards. The Aggies (12-2) had several chances to score, but failed four times inside the North Dakota 10. O'Sullivan threw an interception on one possession, and the Aggies missed a field goal on another. The Aggies also turned the ball over on downs twice. In the second quarter, Klosterman hit Graf from 25 yards out with 3:39 remaining. The pair hooked up again from 12 yards out to cap North Dakota's first possession of the second half. UC Davis' only points came late in the fourth quarter when UND took a safety to run down the clock and force the Aggies to start the next possession deep inside their own territory. |
